EMO NIGHT SG

The kids we were then and the people we are now may be vastly different, but there are things that remain in our veins throughout. Music, particularly 'emo' was the anthem of an era for many of us. We knew the same songs, every favourite hook from those songs, we listened to them at this one same period of our lives, and we all shared a common love for it. It was these tunes of our coming of age that accompanied many, comforted some and most importantly forged a valuable like-mindedness amongst a generation of people who can be 5 or 10 years apart but still find themselves lip syncing to 'I'm Not Ok' by My Chemical Romance, head banging to Brand New's 'Seventy Times 7' or finger tapping to Taking Back Sunday's 'A Decade Under The Influence' whenever and wherever they hear it come on. On SG's first ever Emo Night, we'll be celebrating this music that helped shape us in one way or another. Through a special DJ set by Bryan Ulric of The Summer State and Villes, expect to hear songs by The Ataris, From First to Last, Death Cab for Cutie, Funeral for a Friend, The Used and many more from your favourite emo artistes. Meet old friends, make new ones and enjoy the coming together of many very different individuals with (we believe) very similar hearts. Sing them out! Have fun! And let's celebrate an unforgettable era together. See all you emo heads there! P.S. Studded belts, band tees and heavy eyeliner preferred Emo Night SG will be held on 6 June, 2015 Venue: KOI Bangers + Izakaya, 9 Haji Lane Time: 10pm - 1am Entry is free
