Carefully weaving in influences from folk, baroque-pop, and alt-rock, 20-year-old singer-songwriter Linying has forged a distinct musical style marked by stirring, affective melodies and acute lyricism. Her versatile songwriting is showcased in the worldwide release of Run, an electro house collaboration with French duo Krono and Amsterdam-based dance label, Armada Music. Shine, a tropical saxophone-led hit with German producers Felix Jaehn and Freddy Verano followed soon after. The Universal Music release garnered millions of plays online and on air while clinching the #1 spot on The Hype Machine charts. Aside from her electronic house projects, Linying is working on her debut EP, which is slated for release later in 2015.
Borrowing diverse elements and influences from her past collaborative work, Linying, in her solo showcase as part of All Things New, presents new material from her upcoming record, and performs for the first time with members of 4-piece outfit Sunset in Antarctic, indie artist Samantha Rui, who appeared in the last Mosaic Music Festival, and acoustic folk singer-songwriter Joshua Phang.
