The Grammy Award-winning Estonian National Male Choir makes its Singapore debut at the Esplanade Concert Hall\, presenting choral works from the 19th century to the present! The choir will be performing pieces by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy\, Sergei Rachmaninov\, Henrik Ø\;degaa rd\, Galina Grigoryeva\, Giovanni Bonato and Veljo Tormis. Founded in 1944 by legendary composer and leader of the Estonian choral movement\, Gustav E mesaks\, the choir has since grown to become the largest full-time professi onal male choir in the world. Over its 60 years of existence\, they have gi ven more than 6000 concerts all over Estonia\, in many cities of former Sov iet Union\, as well as Western European countries\, Israel\, Canada and the US.
\n\nIn 2004\, the choir won the Grammy Award for Best Choral Per formance for their recording of Sibelius&rsquo\; cantatas. A year later\, t heir recording of Edvard Grieg'\;s Peer Gynt was voted the Orchestral Al bum of the Year in BBC Music Magazine.
