Celebrating our 5th year of music-making since our inception in 2010, EVOKX presents Evocation 2015: The Art of Giving with a programme of choral music from the romantic period and the contemporary. We will also be featuring the choir from Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), under the direction of our choral director Mr Terrence Toh, as our guest choir of the evening.
The night's programme seeks to draw parallel between the music from the two period of music creation, as we attempt to convey the various composers' intentions in their music amidst contrasting colours, forms and texture, yet unified by the very essence of an evocative nature. You will get to hear our rendition of secular and sacred music from the likes of Debussy, Bruckner, Elgar and living composers John August Pamintuan, Dwight Okamura, Toh Ban Sheng and Albert Tay.
