William J:
Introduced to sound system culture and pirate radio while living in the UK in 2008, an obsession with early Dubstep
and Grime pushed William J to get involved in underground music. After quietly building his tastes and skills for years, William J's hybrid sound blends together a diverse range of styles, including UK Bass and Funky, old school House and Garage, Dancehall, Footwork, Grime, and everything in between.
His forward-thinking selection, versatility, and diverse knowledge of dance music history brings a fresh sound to the vibrant underground dance music scene in Singapore. After joining homegrown collective and label Darker Than Wax in 2012 and moving back to Singapore in 2013, the past year has seen William J playing sets alongside international artists such as Loefah, Skream, Roska, and Bonobo at various venues including Velvet Underground, Kyo, The Vault, and Home Club, as well as playing at Zoukout's Localised Tent.
