Introspection - A Jazz Ensemble Composition Showcase

"INTROSPECTION" is an original jazz/fusion composition showcase featuring the works of budding Singaporean musicians, Amanda Cheong and Ernest Tan.

This project began in early 2016 when Amanda and Ernest underwent an internship with Hummingbird Concepts, where they were mentored and shown the ropes of jazz arrangement and composition by local jazz artist Felix Phang. Over the course of their internship, both Amanda and Ernest have written many tunes, exploring the genre of New-Melodic Jazz.

"INTROSPECTION" will also feature some of the finest musicians in the country, such as drummer Aaron James Lee (The Steve Mcqueens), bassist Jase Sng (The Steve Mcqueens), keyboardist Euntaek Lim (The Suitcase), trumpeter Gabriel Hoe (Quantum Kid) and many more.

The aim of this showcase is to generate awareness and appreciation for jazz, as it is not a mainstream form of music in Singapore. With initiatives such as this, and hopefully more to come in the future, Amanda and Ernest hope to spark a greater interest and curiosity for the genre, and expand the circle of jazz audiences in Singapore.
