Kevin Loh picked up the classical guitar from his father he was five years old. A highly-gifted guitarist, the 15-year-old has achieved much in a short time: he gave his first solo guitar performance at five, attained his Grade 8 certification in classical guitar at 11 and at 13, was the first Singaporean to compete and win the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Youth Competition (Junior).
Rit Xu is an up-and-coming and award-winning jazz flautist. Greatly inspired by his late father, a pianist who was active in Singapore’s jazz circuit, Rit picked up the classical flute as a child and never looked back.
Kevin and Rit met at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore, where they were invited to perform at the game’s closing ceremony, directed by illustrious music producer/director and Cultural Medallion recipient Iskandar Ismail. Since then, the two have often collaborated with each other. Catch these musical buddies present a repertoire of classical compositions and jazz standards!
