The Singapore/Tokyo-based record label celebrates five years with a showcase of the label's artistic endeavors in music, art and design with performances by three of its leading acts from Singapore - ASPIDISTRAFLY, Hanging Up The Moon and Sonicbrat. A prominent record label in Japan with 13 editions released and consecutive sold-out label showcases in Tokyo since 2008, Kitchen. Label is holding the event for the first time in Singapore on 11th Jan at The U Factory, Gillman Barracks.
Heralding the evening, multi-award winning composer Darren Ng, also known as Sonicbrat, presents an intimate solo piano performance. In the folk-acoustic tradition of singer-songwriters, well-respected veteran Sean Lam shines through with his plaintive vocals and introspective lyrics as Hanging Up The Moon in a four piece band with Victor Low, Dean Aziz and Alexius Cai (aka PIBLOKTO). ASPIDISTRAFLY, a collaboration between Kitchen. Label founder Ricks Ang and composer April Lee, adds a touch of delicate lo-fi haziness with its trademark flickeringly filmic mixture of ambient folk and gossamer-like vocal harmonies.
