Who can forget the “KRUmania” that swept across Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore in the 1990s? Last here in 1999, Malaysia’s well-loved brothers Norman, Yusry, and Edry make their long-awaited return to Singapore with a concert to kick off their 25th anniversary celebrations.
Formed in 1992, it all started when a college friend sent one of their demos to an international music label. Today, KRU is one of the most popular Malay pop, hip hop and R&B music groups in the Southeast Asian region, with 15 albums, more than 20 chart-topping hits, and multiple accolades under their belt.
The brothers went on a hiatus in 2006, branching out into producing and directing as they built their entertainment empire. They were responsible for several blockbuster films including the Cicak Man series, and successfully launched the careers of stars such as Feminin, Indigo, Elite, Juliana Banos, MOJO, Forteen, and Caliph Buskers under their label KRU Music.
