La Mer Et L’ile plays A. Dvorak and Korea’s Chamber Music

La Mer et L'Ile(The Sea and the Island) begins its first overseas concert of 2016 in Singapore. It will perform chamber music from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Divertimento in F major, K. 138, "Salzburg Symphony No. 3" to Dvorak's Piano Quintet in A, Opus 81. In addition, you will be able to listen to Korea's contemporary chamber music about Korea’s sea and island. These are firstly “Blue and Black” for Piano Quartet, 2nd movement 'Song from Ancient Peoples' composed by Elisenda Fabregas, Spanish/American composer, and secondly “Morning of the Ocean” for Haegum, Violin and Cello composed by Jonghee Kang who is actively working in the United States. Unique to our concert, let yourself be immersed in the harmony of the Korean traditional musical instrument Haegum, together with violin and cello. The beautiful vocal music of Myung-whun Choi and Georges Bizet to be sung by Mezzo Soprano accompanied by string quartet/piano will add even more flavor to our harmony.

All musicians are much sought-after classical players in Korea, Europe and North America. Music Director/Violinist Yeonwoo Choi will be leading Mezzo Soprano Bohae Kim, traditional Korean instrument Haegum player Seunghee Lee, Violinist Jun-Young Park, French Violist Erwan Richard, Cellist David James Kim, and Pianist Quentin Kim to help play beautiful Korean chamber music as well as other well-known classical music in Singapore.
