This weekend presents music from around the world, from South American and Latin-Cuban rhumba, mambo and flamenco to new urban syncopated rhythms incorporating dub, reggae and electronic music. Artist collectives Wobology and Mantravine, comprising local and locally-based musicians such as Richard Meade; Rupak George; Eriko Murakami and Deborah Emmanuel, together with the band Los Cucurrus, will entertain and share with you the one love that brings their worlds together: music.
Wobology is the creation of computer sound scientist Richard Meade, gracious guitar hero Rupak George, mad tricks trombonist Eriko Murakami and poet performer Deborah Emmanuel. Their four national backgrounds come together to create dub/reggae/electronic compositions about love, good vibes and equality. Get in the groove with them as they show you how music can speak for the injustices we think we cannot change.
