String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80

The Amber Quartet was formed in 2007 at the Central Conservatory of Music in China. The quartet has received first prize in the Central Conservatory of Music Chamber Music Competition and second prize in the Golden Bell String Quartet Competition in China.

Each member of the quartet has studied with Professor Yun Chen and Professor Bing Yu.The ensemble has undertaken international tours in countries such as England, France, Germany, Australia, America and Japan, and in early 2013 the quartet was accepted into the Institute International de Musica de Camara de Madrid to study with musicians such as Günter Pichler from the Alban Berg Quartet.

The quartet's premiere of Yu-xiu's Tenderness Way to Government Dignitaries was met with critical acclaim. Recent performances have included world premieres of the works Suite of the High Hill by Si-Cong Ma, and Song of Tree by Mikko Heini. The quartet rehearse five times each week and name the Alban Berg String Quartet as one they all admire.

Out of respect for other concert-goers, only children above 6 years of age will be allowed admission.
