Resonates With Webe
In 2007, Dawn somehow jostled her way to become a finalist on Mediacorp TV's Project Superstar 2 out of 6000 hopefuls, and that's how it all began. Having honed her craft at various notable music schools such as home-grown label Ocean Butterflies Music Forest's exclusive artist training course, the Music Clinic (started by local veterans Anthony Pang & Peter Chen), as well as the Lee Wei Song School of Music (brainchild of regionally acclaimed songwriter/producer Lee Wei Song), Dawn has performed for intimate crowds of 20 to a mega stadium of 3000 people, and a myriad of audiences in between. With a repertoire ranging from Mandarin Classics to Alternative Pop and Jazz Standards, the effectively bilingual songbird also sings in Japanese, Spanish, Hokkien, Cantonese and French.
During the course of her work with night entertainment group St James Holdings Ltd, Dawn often found herself behind the scenes working with the major record labels to put together events & music showcases for international acts including the likes of UK pop sensation The Wanted, Taiwanese rock duo Y2J, and Hong Kong megastar Karen Mok.
Now, she performs regularly with Sparkle Music and The Summertimes Big Band, taking prominent stages and occasions - having performed for dignitaries such as President S R Nathan, the Princess of Sweden to name a couple, and for broadcast giant MediaCorp's biggest annual affair - MediaCorp Festival 2010. Dawn has also performed for scores of wedded couples and corporate clients including JTC Corporation, French Bistro LOEWY in Jakarta, Bishan GRC and many more.
