From Friday to Sunday, 20 to 22 January 2017, Singapore Art Museum (SAM) celebrates Singapore Art Week with guided tours, artist performances and a symposium at the Singapore Biennale, as well as other programmes at the museum, including live music sessions, an art market and a street picnic at 8Q, Singapore Art Museum. #SingaporeBiennale

11am, 2pm & 7pm: Guided Tour (English) | Singapore Biennale 2016 | SAM

2pm—8pm: Artist Performance: 'Behind the Light' by Singapore Biennale artist Melati Suryodarmo | SAM, Level 1

A durational performance and installation that proposes an exchange between the two sides of a mirror, illuminating the relationships between self, surface, society and the spiritual world. Suryodarmo is known for her highly physical, time-based performances in which she uses her body as a theatrical canvas.

4pm—12pm: The FUNtastic SAM Art Week Party: A special street party and bazaar with shops, food, live music, DJs and more.

6pm—6.30pm: Artist Performance: 'Koboi Balik Lagi (The 'Koboi' Returns Again) by Singapore Biennale artist Niranjan Rajah

The third and last element in Rajah's installation is a series of performances in which the artist (or his accomplice) peels, slices and serves a mango to the audience, while recounting the Hindu myth about Ganesha winning a mango by circling around his parents. In his work, Rajah often explores personal and family narratives, as well as the cultural, political and social landscapes of Malaysia.
