Kai is a Singaporean beatboxer, live-looping artist, singer-songwriter and vocal percussionist/tenor with the local cappella group, Vocaluptuous.
Picking up the beatboxing skills on his own and without any formal training, Kai began his foray into beatboxing in 2007. Since then, he has competed, performed and taught his craft on both local and international levels. More recently, he was invited to judge the National A Cappella Championships Beatbox Battle in 2014 - a rare honour and marking his transition from competitor to adjudicator, in recognition of his experience and prominence in the local beatboxing community.
Kai released his independently recorded and produced debut acoustic indie folk/pop solo Beginnings EP in May 2014. He received praise from regional sites such as Popspoken, The Smart Local, and Musicife, as well as veterans of the local indie music scene including Kevin Mathews and Amanda Tee.
