Academic Festival Overture
Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 'From the New World'
The phenomenal Gustavo Dudamel, poster boy of Venezuela’s El Sistema music programme, marks his Singapore debut conducting Dvořák's famous New World Symphony. He is joined by old friend of the SSO, Renaud Capuçon, for Alban Berg’s Violin Concerto, a piece dedicated ‘to the memory of an angel’.
"He inhabits both score and orchestra, offering a seamless conduit between the two" – The Guardian on Gustavo Dudamel
