Sungha Jung Live in Singapore with Special Guest Neil Chan

As part of his 2016 World Tour, Sungha Jung will return to Singapore for his sixth headlining show on 28 May 2016. Ticket Sales will commence on 5 February 2016. Sungha Jung has been hailed by many guitar lovers and musicians as the finest teenage fingerstyle guitarist in the world. Combining spell-binding technique with artistic wizardry, his guitar renditions of contemporary, jazz, broadway and classical tunes have gone viral on YouTube, having been viewed over 400 million times worldwide. Sungha Jung perform a type of guitar music known among enthusiasts as fingerstyle. In this virtuosic style of music, the guitarist uses the guitar like a piano, and proceeds to perform the melody, bass, accompaniment and percussion all on a single instrument. Sungha has long held an appreciation for Singapore music, and has extensively arranged and performed popular local songs at his concerts. Some of his previous arrangements include hits by JJ Lin, Tanya Chua, Kit Chan and Stefanie Sun. These songs are included in his set lists whenever he performs in Singapore. 2016 is a special year for Sungha. He will be releasing his sixth solo album; and is visiting Singapore for the sixth consecutive year. Fans at last year’s SG50 show fondly recall and appreciate Sungha’s touching gesture to celebrate our nation’s birthday as he carefully arranged and performed Kit Chan’s Home and Stefanie Sun’s We Will Get There. Reveling in the superior audio and visual experience afforded by the Esplanade Concert Hall, Sungha delivered a masterclass in guitar playing - beautifully crafted melodies blended seamlessly with catchy bass riffs; notes were aptly placed and tonally perfect; Sungha’s subtle playing, strong and weak in turn, facilitated the ebbs and flows of each piece, and allowed him to illustrate each musical piece with beauty and heart-felt expression. For this upcoming concert, Sungha will be ably supported by Singapore’s very own guitar virtuoso, Neil Chan. Come expecting a strong showing of solo and duet guitar music featuring a carefully-chosen set list of originals and crowd favorites!
