DESCRIPTION:<p>We are thrilled to announce that legends of shoegaze\, Swerv
edriver will play a one off\, intimate show in Singapore ahead of their Aus
tralian and New Zealand tour. Singapore&rsquo\;s new upstarts Cosmic Child
 will support.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>Press for Swervedriver &lsquo\;I wasn&rsquo\
;t born to lose you&rsquo\;&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>&#39\;Swervedriver return with
a record that wisely plays up to the band&rsquo\;s most formidable strengt
hs. Reunion albums can be a tricky and sometimes disastrous business (just
ask the Pixies)\, but I Wasn&rsquo\;t Born To Lose You manages the rare tri
ck of actually enhancing the band&rsquo\;s legacy rather than tarnishing it
 .&rsquo\;</p>\n\n<p>Pitchfork 7/10</p>\n\n<p>&#39\;Swervedriver&rsquo\;s st
rength always stemmed from the melodic interplay of guitarists Adam Frankli
n and Jimmy Hartridge&mdash\;a collaboration that\, at its best\, felt like
watching a rocket take off at close range and having it subsequently blow
up in your face. It&rsquo\;s hard not to use firework metaphors when descri
bing the band&rsquo\;s music\, which seems to function best as a series of
blinding explosions and brilliant fade-outs&#39\;<br />\n<br />\nLine of Be
st Fit 8/10</p>\n\n<p>Swervedriver were formed in Oxford\, UK in 1990 by vo
calists and guitarists Adam Franklin and Jimmy HartridgeCombining the shoeg
azer aesthetic with crashing swirling guitars Swervedriver and a heavier ro
ck/ psych feel. The first incarnation was &lsquo\;Shake Appeal&rsquo\; whic
h was influenced by 60s garage rock bands like The Stooges and MC5 and the
sights and sounds of the British Leyland car factory that Franlkin and Hart
ridge walked past every day on the way to school.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>However
they soon moved on to listening to American alternative indie rock acts H&u
uml\;sker D&uuml\;\, Sonic Youth\, and Dinosaur Jr. Before leaving Oxford\,
they had handed their demo to fellow Oxford kid\, Mark Gardener of Ride\,
who passed it to Alan McGee at Creation Records\, then home to My Bloody Va
lentine\, The House of Love\, and formerly The Jesus and Mary Chain. McGee
signed them almost immediately after listening to the tape and Swervedriver
was born!&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>Swervedriver debuted with a series of brilliant
EPs - Son of a Mustang Ford\, Rave Down\, and Sandblasted before releasing
  their first full-length album\, Raise\, in 1991. After a U.S. tour in supp
ort of Soundgarden\, their then drummer Grahm Bonner left and it marked the
start of a series of line up and label wrangles that seemed to thwart Swer
verdriver&rsquo\;s rising star. In 1993\, Swervedriver returned\; with the
core of Franklin and Hartridge and released their second album Mezcal Head.
The band were on hiatus for most of 2000s with Adam working on Magnetic Mo
rning with Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino.</p>\n\n<p>In October 2007 they sp
earheaded the shoegaze revival with a reunion announcement and tour\; appea
ring at international festivals as well as making an appearance on Late Nig
ht with Jimmy Fallon. It seemed that a whole new generation were ready to e
mbrace Swervedriver. Pitchfork praised their second album as &lsquo\;the lo
st classic of the shoegaze movement&rsquo\; and with the release of the hig
hly critically acclaimed 5th album &lsquo\;I Wasn&rsquo\;t Born to Lose You
&rsquo\; in 2015\, Swervedriver finally got their due.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>The
current line up reads like a supergroup - Adam Franklin\, Jimmy Hartridge\
, Mick Quinn (Supergrass) on bass and Mikey Jones (Bolts of Melody\, Heaven
 ) on drums!</p>\n\n<p>Love crashing blissed out guitars &hellip\;. Don&rsqu
o\;t miss this chance to see one of the most influential bands of the 1990s
!</p>\n\n<p>Cosmic Child:<br />\nYoung Singapore upstarts Cosmic Child rele
ased their first album this year\, describing it as duvet pop with&#39\; lo
tsa reverb and fuzz. Funny guitar noises.&rsquo\; - what&rsquo\;s not to li
 ke!</p>\n\n<p><a href="https://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fcosmi
