SWF POP #10: Refugees of White Noise

SWF POP PRESENTS: REFUGEES OF WHITE NOISE MARC NAIR X TIM DE COTTA The world is in retreat from itself. While we deny rights to refugees fleeing from war and tumult, we are oblivious to a constant assault of white noise on our senses, a blatant blaring that wears us down. Marc Nair and Tim De Cotta explore these frequencies through poems and songs that take on, among other things, surveillance, the great flood and email etiquette. Laid-back bass grooves and lines of poetry weave together in this performance at *SCAPE by spoken word artist Marc Nair and bass maestro Tim De Cotta. Come and listen to songs and poems that tell of quiet evenings, a flood and musings on the state of our land. This is a FREE event. --- MARC NAIR is a poet and photographer from Singapore. He has published six volumes of poetry and has also been featured in a number of anthologies. His latest book is Spomenik, a collection of poems and photographs from the Balkans.
