Hip Step "A N D" Jump Asia Trip 2015
Live in Singapore
Kyoto based alternative rock band tricot announces their Hip Step "A N D" Jump Asia Trip 2015, returning to Singapore for a one-night-only show at The Substation on Sunday 31 May.
Created in 2010 by three talented female musicians: Nakajima Ikkyu (vocals, guitar), Kida Motoko “motifour” (guitar, vocals), and Sagane Hiromi “hirohiro” (bass, vocals) – tricot's unique sound is characterised by the frenetic math rock rhythms that underpin Ikkyu's vocals, which flip from sprightly to a sprawling rage on a knife's edge. Fans of Battles, Speedy Ortiz, Zach Hill's pre-Death Grips band Hella, and proto-emos Don Caballero should find plenty to like here.
Their live performance is far more vibrant and intense than you could expect from their diminutive appearance and is their shows are critically acclaimed by fans and media.
In 2012 and 2013, tricot rose to the big stage, performing at several major festivals in Japan such as Arabaki Rock Fest, Fuji Rock Festival, Rock In Japan, Rising Sun Rock Festival, Monster Bash, Sweet Love Shower. In March 2014, they embarked on their first ever Asia tour, playing to sell-out crowds. tricot topped 2014 off by performing at 4 major festivals in Europe; headlining as the opening act for The Pixies in the UK in July; before returning to complete their latest full length album “A N D” – released in March 2015.
Four piece instrumental rock band from sunny Singapore. Sphaeras has had a rather eventful year, performing regularly in the local gigging circuit, more recently announced as the opening act for Japanese math-rock band Tricot, and of course hard at work in the studio for their highly anticipated debut album, Moirai, which debuts on May 2.
