10 Places on Orchard Road for Live Music

ESTIMATED

Orchard Road; shopping haven, monstrous crowds, confusing underpasses, and also teeming with live music venues. We have the likes of TAB and Scape who accommodate international and local acts quite frequently, but we check out the pub and bar scene in the vicinity. From hotel bars, bars in shopping malls, a former post office - we have quite the eclectic list!

Balaclava ION

A respite from the shopping madness that is Orchard Ion, Balaclava Ion is where you can kick back your shoes and pop that champagne. Split into the main bar, sports bar, and the lounge area for something more mellow, patrons also enjoy live music six days a week.

Acid Bar

Acid Bar feels a little more laid-back than the shopping mecca that is Orchard Road. It can get rowdy some nights which is a bonus if you're looking for a boisterous night with the buddies, but on less busy days, you can enjoy some contemplative time in this Peranakan-decor joint while enjoying the pub act for the night.

Muddy Murphy's

Who knows better about drinking than the Irish? The spirit of the Irish is well alive at Muddy Murphy's! Pile on the pints while enjoying the live entertainment on display - blues, classic rock, soul on some nights, and also sports on cable for that intense match you have to catch with your bros.

Tanuki

An unconventional concept, Tanuki is a Japanese-American bar with an emphasis on raw food which means that you can enjoy fresh oyster, sashimi, hamburger sushi roll, and steak tartare all on one menu. Sit on the balcony and choose from the delightful drinks menu of cocktails and martinis while you enjoy the live music they have for you.

KPO

Occupying the old post office quarters on Killiney Road and located at the cusp of Orchard Road, you'll often see luxury cars lined up outside so know what you are walking into ($$$). Still, KPO is pretty cosy on the inside, where you can enjoy decent beer below $10 and pub grub. Local DJs are on hand on some days to drop house music to keep the mood interesting.

BRIX

At the basement of Grand Hyatt Singapore is trendy bar BRIX. Divided into distinct sections, the Wine and Whisky Bar and the Music Bar where there is a full range of beverages from craft beers to delightful cocktails. Much of its appeal lies in the house band(s) who draw quite a crowd every night.

Living Room Bar

Like BRIX, Living Room is located in a hotel. Just around the corner at Marriott in fact. If you're looking for a place to continue the part, the Living Room is the place to be. More like a club to be at after your clubbing, things start getting pumped up only in the wee hours of the morning. So if sleep is not your thing, stick around.

Five Izakaya at Cuppage

The cheapest place to get beer from the list here, Five Izakaya offers $5 specials all day long. Kick back at this joint after a long day at work for some bites and house pours. Bonus is the live music they have available, including crowd favourite ShiLi & Adi who will lull you through the evening with contemporary and Top 40 hits.

Hard Rock Cafe Singapore

A solid and trustable name when it comes to good ol' American pub food and great live entertainment, Hard Rock Cafe is the place to be. Always something interesting going on every other night, join in the good music and fun and tuck into a hearty meal, all while being surrounded by music memorabilia of legends.

*Scape Ground Theatre

Orchard also boasts decent-sized venues to hold the bigger shows - such as Scape. Already accommodating the sold-out and packed-out Taking Back Sunday show, and electronic duo Darkside when they made their Singapore stop, Scape seems like a promising venue for more acts. Keep up with our gig-finder to know when the next big show is!
