*SCAPE's exciting Music Day Out! (MDO) series has always celebrated the DIY ethos of independent music, and showcased the best that the region has to offer. For their latest edition, MDO is set to end the year with a bang as they present 17 artists across two stages with a diverse lineup that ranges from budots to grindcore and everything in between.

Produced by Steady State Records with guest programming from Symmetry Entertainment, Endless Return and Tong Tong Asia - the event is slated to take place over New Year's Eve, beginning at 5PM on 31 December 2024 through to 3AM on 1 January 2025. Tickets are free, but registration is required here.

Highlights include South Korean indie pop faves ADOY, Singaporean grindcore legends Wormrot, Filipino budots pioneer DJ Love, Malaysian pop sensation MASDO, the groovy hip-hop of local act Mary Sue & The Clementi Sound Appreciation Club, Thai post-punk trio VVAS and homegrown experimental rock veterans sub:shaman.

The stacked lineup also features amazing acts such as Singapore's Aggressive Raisin Cat, Eden Eyes, Fatbear, nkei, turbobf and Vegetable; Thailands' BlackArmatus x DJ XULALIT; South Korea's cotoba; as well as Malaysia's I-SKY & ReddiRocket and The Filters.

As the flagship music event of comma Creative Arts festival, MDO is dubbed “Magical Garden”, taking inspiration from comma's theme of “Past, Present and Future” - encouraging a move towards a more sustainable green future of music events in Singapore.

As with a tradition, the stages have also been named after defunct organisations/individuals with positive contributions to the music scene. The Playspace Stage will be named “Garden of Lush”, after Lush 99.5 which ended in 2017; while The Ground Theatre Stage will be named “Garden of Edwin”, after the late technical director of MDO Edwin Teo.
