SM Entertainment's new all-female group aespa has launched a first-of-its-kind NFT collection, in partnership with artist Blake Kathryn. æ girls is a three-part digital collection "inspired by the aespa members’ DNA and their avatars," according to the Sotheby's Metaverse website.

aespa's NFT collection includes:

MY Pass, an Open Edition NFT that serves as an access key for any fan and collector. Each MY Pass comes with a free NFT from a collection of 16 different works, especially personalized and prepared by each aespa member.

Dreamspace, a super exclusive single edition 1:1 artwork that is an environmental reflection of each member. This artwork is said to be "the ultimate fan experience" as it includes a GLB file, a video recording of aespa and Blake Kathryn talking about the artwork, a signed physical print, a virtual meet-and-greet with Blake Kathryn, and an all-expense paid meet-and-greet with aespa in Seoul at their concert.

Altars (Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning), four fine art executions of each aespa member created in editions of eight, creating a total of 32 Special and Limited Editions,. Each digital artwork embodies their iconography, aespa metaverse world, and KWANGYA aesthetics. The NFT also includes a GLB file and a personalized recording by each aespa member, talking about the collaborative artwork. Edition 01 of each Altars series will go to the highest bidder and also include a signed autograph print by the members and Blake Kathryn.

The collaboration was facilitated by Singapore-based brand experience agency INVNT.ATOM and web3 entertainment branding experts connecting dotts pte ltd. The æ girls collection will be available for bidding from 13 October 2022 at 5:00 PM EST to 21 October 2022 at 11:00 AM EST through Sotheby’s Metaverse, a dedicated online destination for rare and extraordinary NFTs. The collection also marks the world's first collaboration between a K-pop group and a global NFT artist.

“From the beginning, aespa has been a very future forward group, embracing technology and the metaverse with creativity and as a core part of their identity, and their fans have responded enthusiastically," said SM Entertainment in a press release. "This æ girls collection, beautifully created in collaboration with Blake Kathryn, one of the most prominent female artists working in Web3, further extends, cultivates and expands aespa’s web3 community."

Following their unprecedented debut where their video 'Black Mamba' surpassed 100 million views in record time, aespa continued to top charts, be lauded in Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30 list, deliver a speech at the United Nations' 2022 High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development, and be Apple Music's Up Next artist for June. They released their mini-album 'GIRLS' in July.
