aespa are keeping the momentum going following their landmark 2 August Lollapalooza debut in Chicago with the release of the music video for 'Switchblade', their collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign.
The visual arrives just days after the K-pop quartet took over the Allianz Stage at Grant Park, where fans were treated to one of the festival's biggest surprises. During a performance of 'Switchblade', Ty Dolla $ign emerged onstage, marking the first time the collaborators had performed the track live together.
Backed by a live band, DJ, and dancers, KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER, and NINGNING delivered a 14-song set that balanced career-defining hits with the live debut of several tracks from their second studio album, LEMONADE. Opening with 'Black Mamba', the group powered through fan favourites including 'Next Level', 'Armageddon', 'Supernova', and 'Whiplash' before introducing new material from the record.
Alongside its double title tracks 'WDA' and 'LEMONADE', the group also performed fan-favourite B-sides 'Can't Help Myself', 'Switchblade (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign)', and 'SHAKIN'' live for the first time. The set was streamed globally via Hulu in the United States, Disney+ in international markets, and Weverse in select regions including South Korea.
Reflecting on the surprise collaboration, Ty Dolla $ign shared: "It was an incredible experience to be back on stage at Lollapalooza—this time alongside aespa. So proud of how far they've come. The group closed the performance with 'LEMONADE', bringing its first appearance at the iconic festival to an electrifying finish.
Speaking after the show, aespa said: "This was our first time performing at Lollapalooza, and it was such an honor to take the stage in Chicago. Hearing the crowd sing along and cheer throughout the set gave us so much energy, and we had an incredible time performing. We're so grateful to everyone who came out to support us.
