Going to be alone this Valentine's Day? Enjoy some singles for singles – listen

February is upon us and that means the season of heart-shaped balloons (probably entwined with LED lights), couples dressed to the nines at restaurants, and of course, the blasting of ‘Single Ladies’ in every single club has arrived.

But not all of us can be so lucky. If you’re down in the dumps looking for love, or if you’ve recently loved and lost, a clear way to cope with Valentine's Day is listening to sad love songs (even science agrees).

So why suffer in silence? Instead of weeping your way through that bottle of wine by yourself, we’ve made a singles playlist for you. True to its name, it was made by a single person, with singles all the way back from the 80’s, for your single, aching heart.

Or even better, gather your single friends and sing at the top of your lungs to punk rock tunes like Blink-182’s ‘I Miss You’ or Sum 41's 'Pieces'. For the mellower folks, we got you covered with some Natalie Imbruglia and Daniel Bedingfield in there too. If you're feeling empowered, we've slipped in some Pussycat Dolls and Marina and The Diamonds just for you. Oh, and of course James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’. Because nobody knows heartbreak better than James Blunt.
