On May 2nd last year, Joshua Lau from Amberhill challenged himself to write, record, produce, promote and launch a five-track EP in 250 days.
This is a huge challenge for someone who considers himself a procrastinator — as it is really for any musician starting out — but with the recent release of Songs from Summer, it shows that a sense of urgency doesn't always result in sloppiness.
Though slightly past 250 days as promised, alternative rock outfit Amberhill dropped their debut five-track EP last Friday (30/6), and it evokes a sense of warmth and optimism that shines through with each song — this may have taken a limited amount of time to get made, but its luscious production and meticulous instrumentation shows that it was a genuine labor of love.
A full review will be out with our end-of-month roundup later this July, but for now, you can stream the EP below.

The band will be opening for Aural-Ink's EP launch on July 8th at Hood Bar And Cafe.
