Apple announces AirPods Pro with noise cancellation, available from 30 October

Apple has announced the noise-cancelling AirPods Pro via a press release. They are available for pre-order now and will start shipping on Wednesday, 30 October for $249. As the newest addition to the AirPods line, the AirPods Pro will arrive with an all-new design along with new functions.

The new design features earbuds with three different sizes of flexible silicone ear tips. They are also sweat and water resistant. Apple promises superior sound quality with Adaptive EQ, a technology that can tune "music to the shape of an individual’s ear".

The AirPods Pro will feature Active Noise Cancellation, where build-in microphones removes external background noise. This noise cancellation function is continuously adjusted 200 times per second.

Transparency Mode will allow users to hear their environment while listening to music. Switching between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode can be done directly on the AirPods Pro through a new force sensor, which will also allow users to control music playback and pick up calls.

Similar to the second-generation AirPods, the AirPods Pro support wireless charging and hands-free "Hey Siri" requests.

AirPods Pro will allow up to five hours of listening time, similar to the existing AirPods. In Active Noise Cancellation mode, they will enable up to four-and-a-half hours of listening time on a single charge. With the Wireless Charging Case, users can experience up to 24 hours of listening time.
