The Sam Willows and SEZAIRI curate their own all-Singaporean playlists for Apple Music

Singapore is turning 52 really soon, and Apple Music will be joining in the national festivities.

This year, to show their love to the Little Red Dot, Apple Music is collaborating with Singaporean acts The Sam Willows, Sezairi, iNCH, Nathan Hartono, Linying, Falling Feathers and more to curate their very own playlists. Most of these playlists will feature tracks by Singaporean acts — showcasing just a sliver of local music currently available on the streaming platform.

The playlists will be available to stream from 4 to 10 August, 9am SGT at http://apple.co/musicsg.

The Sam Willows have named their specially curated playlist "Singaporean & Proud curated by The Sam Willows" of which they say,

BANDWAGON TV

Songs by some of our favorite people – all Singaporean and all awesome. Still not convinced by local music? We suggest you give this playlist a listen!"

Sezairi's playlist, "Sezairi's Singapore" also boasts a wide array of local acts — from Charlie Lim to B-Quartet"

These are the songs that don’t necessarily make it to mainstream radio, but showcase the incredible musicality and versatility of our homegrown artists. These are the songs that I would be proud to introduce to anyone from anywhere in the world who loves music and wants to sample what Singaporean music has to offer."

Meanwhile, Linying's playlist features a mix of indie rock tunes and power ballads, while Nathan Hartono compiles some of his favourite singer-songwriters.

Aside from music, Apple is also celebrating Singapore's National Day with a collection of apps in the App Store titled Happy Birthday Singapore! The collection of apps are live from 4 to 10 August, 9am SGT at http://appstore.com/celebrateSG
