NewJeans, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN, and BSS are some of the big winners in 8th edition of the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) hosted by the Philippines.

Held on 14 December at the Philippine Arena, this year’s awards show featured a stacked lineup of singers and actors in attendance, plus memorable performances from the likes of BSS, SB19, &TEAM, Stray Kids, The Boyz, Dreamcatcher, and more.

One of Korea’s biggest entertainment awards, the AAA recognises artists, producers, directors, and celebrities working in music, film and television “based on their performance in Korea as well as in the Asian region.”

Winners are selected based on “big data collated from global fans based in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines in Asia; Argentina in South America; Mexico in North America; and Europe.”

This year, Daesangs (대상) or grand prizes went to NewJeans for Singer of the Year and Song of the Year ('Ditto'), and Lee Junho in the actors category. BSS received Daesangs for Performance of the Year as a subunit, and on behalf of their other SEVENTEEN members for FML, Album of the Year. Stray Kids was also awarded Stage of the Year. Lim Young Woong's fandom was also handed a grand prize.

Popularity Awards for singers and actors were also given after the preliminary (24/10 to 9/11) and final (14/11 to 30/11) rounds of voting through the Idol Champ App.
