Asia's largest music festival, Sunburn, goes online with new extended reality technology

An icon in the electronic music scene, the 2020 edition of Asia’s largest music festival, Sunburn Festival, has gone digital.

In the advent of COVID-19, music festivals look a little different this year and Sunburn Festival is no exception, but that still won’t stop them from hosting a major party. Entitled Sunburn Home Festival, the virtual festival was originally slated for 4 - 5 July but is now scheduled to take place on 11-12 July

This 12-hour music spectacular is set to be one of the most exciting digital music events to date, complete with a star-studded lineup and special effects. Attendees can expect to see headline acts such as Vini Vici, MATTN, Bassjackers and Ummet Ozcan, and other performances from Teri Miko, Siana Catherine, Progressive Brothers, and more.

To really amp up the festival spirit, the event will incorporate extended reality technology, which will provide guests with an extraordinary visual experience. Combining virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality, guests can expect vibrant visuals, full exploration of festival grounds, interactive elements and so much more.

Sunburn Home Festival is set to be the first-ever virtual festival in India and what a way to start.

The festival will be streamed via BookMyShow Online, a video streaming platform, with tickets priced between US$1 to US$2 only. Festival-goers can purchase their tickets via BookMyShow’s official website. More information can be found on Sunburn’s official website
