Lollapalooza is kicking off this weekend!

The annual Chicago music festival will be held on 28 to 31 July for four days worth of performances from some of music's most exciting acts like Metallica, Glass Animals, and Dua Lipa.

This year's lineup also sees a diverse array of Asian artists across multiple music genres. Ranging from hip-hop to R&B and electronic, here are some of the Asian acts playing at Lollapalooza 2022.

BANDWAGON TV


BTS' j-hope

When: July 31 (Sunday)

Fresh off the release of his solo album Jack In The Box this month, j-hope is set to close the Lollapalooza main stage this weekend. Endearingly termed as HOBIPALOOZA by fans, this festival gig will make history and mark the first time a South Korean act is headlining at a major US music festival. The talented multi-hyphenate took to Instagram to share his excitement about the momentous opportunity: "It's a thrilling new challenge that I think will become a really memorable chapter in my musical history! I'm gonna give you guys a great show." Fans are looking forward to witnessing the BTS member perform his solo discography live for the first time ever.


TOMORROW X TOGETHER

When: July 30 (Saturday)

4th gen K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER, also known as TXT, will join BigHit Music labelmate j-hope as performers on the Lollapalooza stage this weekend, marking their first-ever US festival appearance. Following their comeback in May with the EP minisode 2: Thursday's Child, the 'Anti-Romantic' hitmakers are currently on the US leg of their ACT: LOVESICK world tour.


ZHU

When: July 28 (Thursday)

Since his debut in 2014, electronic music producer ZHU has been a hot festival favourite. From the famed Coachella to Hungary's Sziget Festival, the Chinese-American artist is known for lighting up music festivals with his entrancing and hypnotic DJ sets.


AUDREY NUNA

When: July 31 (Sunday)

Audrey Nuna is another rising Asian act who will be making her Lollapalooza debut this year. Since her debut in 2018, the Korean-American artist has been making waves with her distinctive style and inventive fusing of genres like hip-hop, R&B, and soul. With collaborations with NIKI and Jack Harlow, the 23-year-old artist proves her versatility and continues to expand her diverse discography.


Griff

When: July 30 (Saturday)

Chinese-Jamaican singer Griff has been on the road following her acclaimed mixtape One Foot in Front of the OtherAfter opening for Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia Tour and making her Glastonbury Festival debut earlier this year, the 'One Night' hitmaker will be taking the stage at Lollapalooza next.
