Avalon Emerson, Soichi Terada & more lead Dekmantel's Southeast Asia debut in Bali this September

Amsterdam electronic music institution Dekmantel is heading to Southeast Asia for the first time, teaming up with Desa Potato Head Bali for a one-day takeover in Seminyak.

Set for 26 September, the collaboration will bring a full day of electronic music and cultural programming to Potato Head Beach Club and Klymax, culminating in a night party headlined by Avalon Emerson, who will also make her Southeast Asian debut.

The takeover comes after years of exchanges between the Dekmantel and Potato Head teams. Dekmantel founder Casper van Tielrooij and Interstellar Funk's Olf van Elden have previously spent time in Bali, while the Potato Head team has visited Amsterdam for Dekmantel Festival.

Joining Avalon Emerson on the bill are Dekmantel Soundsystem, Fafi Abdel Nour, Ogazón, Soichi Terada, Danny Satria, Archie, Bagvs, Dita, Kaazi, Kiwed, and Sattle, bringing together artists from Europe, the US, Japan, and Indonesia.

The programme will stretch beyond the dancefloor, with daytime listening sessions, live Q&As, and a Desa Dialogue centred on ideas, culture, and creativity. The festivities will then move into the night across Potato Head Beach Club and Klymax.

The event will also spotlight artists from Bali and Indonesia, including Danny Satria, Dita, Kiwed, and Sattle. Archie and Bagvs will team up for a B2B set spanning deep house, minimal techno, spaced-out disco, and beyond, while Danny Satria will perform live.

Japan's Soichi Terada will also present his live set, while Dekmantel Soundsystem will reunite van Tielrooij and Olf van Elden behind the decks.

"It started as a friendship. We've spent years visiting each other, sharing music, sharing spaces, and now we get to share Bali with them," shared Potato Head resident DJ Dita. "It feels like the most natural thing! And also very much overdue."

The event will conclude with Avalon Emerson, whose sets move across house, techno, new wave, disco, and deep rave, closing out Dekmantel's first outing in Southeast Asia.
