AXEAN Festival is back in Bali this 13–14 September, promising its most expansive edition yet at the Jimbaran Hub.
The sixth edition of Southeast Asia’s pioneering intra-regional music showcase is set to spotlight over 40 emerging and established acts across the region and beyond. Known for fostering creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange, this year’s festival brings new elements that amplify its core mission: uniting the region through sound.
New in 2025:
-
SEA Club Showcase: A brand-new stage celebrating Southeast Asia’s thriving underground club scenes. Expect genre-deep dives into:
-
Indonesian funkot and dangdut
-
Vietnamese vinahouse
-
Singaporean/Malaysian manyao
-
Filipino budots
-
-
Expanded Music Conference: Curated panel talks, business pitching sessions, and speed meetings designed to spark long-term collaborations.
-
Songwriting Camp (9–12 Sep): A four-day creative retreat for selected artists, producers, and songwriters to co-create original music in an intimate, cross-cultural setting. Last year’s camp produced 20 new tracks.
AXEAN Festival remains a passion project powered by an all-volunteer team. “Whether we’re working with a shoestring budget or something more, we’ll keep turning passion into purpose,” shares co-founder Piyapong Muenprasertdee.
Co-director David Siow adds, “It’s the casual, collaborative energy that builds trust. People come for the music, but stay for the connections.” Tickets for the event are already available here.
