The partnership aims to help independent artists from Southeast Asia reach wider international audiences by bringing KEXP’s recording team directly to the region.

AXEAN Festival will also host KOREA SPOTLIGHT, the K-music showcase presented by South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency.

can't be Blue, MRCH, Nerd Connection, and Silly Silky will make their Indonesian debuts as part of the programme. All four artists emerged from MUSE ON, KOCCA’s artist discovery and development initiative, and will also appear at a dedicated KOREA SPOTLIGHT showcase in Jakarta.

This year will also see the introduction of SEA URBAN, a programme dedicated to Southeast Asia’s hip-hop, rap, R&B, and contemporary urban music scenes.

The programme will combine a curated artist showcase with an industry panel examining the region’s evolving identities, rapid growth, and increasing global reach.

Festivalgoers can also expect an expanded songwriting camp and a Southeast Asian hawker-inspired food experience, adding more opportunities for collaboration and cultural exchange beyond the performances.
