BABYMONSTER are letting their guard down on ‘DESERVE’, a new pop ballad that finds the group looking back on a relationship and wishing an ex-partner well.
Released on 23 October alongside a cinematic music video, the digital single follows June’s ‘SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA’. Lyrical synth melodies and a retro mood underpin its bittersweet reflections, with the members’ restrained delivery building towards an emotional climax.
For a group known for high-energy performances, ‘DESERVE’ brings a different set of strengths into focus. The emphasis falls on how the members convey the lingering feelings behind a farewell, rather than the sheer power of their voices.
“‘DESERVE’ is a style of music we’ve never shown before, where fans can see a noticeably more mature side of us,” BABYMONSTER shared. “Rather than focusing on vocal range or hitting high notes, we focused heavily on the emotional flow during practice.”
The accompanying music video extends that tender, melancholic mood through an interwoven narrative connecting its characters. Film-like direction and the members’ grounded performances give way to more dramatic visuals as the song reaches its climax.
“It's a song that fits autumn so well, so we hope people listen to it when they need a mood boost,” the group added. “Please give it a lot of love.”
BABYMONSTER will begin live promotions on MBC’s Show! Music Core on 24 October, followed by SBS’s Inkigayo on 25 October, with handheld-mic performances of the track.
The release also precedes their second world tour, 2026–27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [CHOOM], which will span 31 shows across 18 cities and five continents.
