BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE turn up the heat with their romantic EP BEAT, which peels back the layers of love, expressing the emotion in a raw and authentic collection of four tracks.
The first gave fans a glimpse into the album with the lead single 'Perfect', which was released in March. The heartfelt love song captured the delicate, easygoing nature of everyday love with its sincere depth and rich lyrics that captured the nuances of the all-encompassing emotion perfectly. Tying into the cheeky preview that the group gave fans with 'Perfect', the rest of the album explores romantic emotions that bloom and mature as the thought of that special person takes over every sense of your being.
Inspired by a challenge from their label to create an album that surrounds the idea of "obsessive love", they tackled the unique theme with ease. MASAHIRO SUNADA explains further on his experience working on BEAT, sharing, "This particular theme was a first for us. We felt that it was something only we, having accumulated the experience we have now, could truly express. When we heard the demo for 'All you need is me', the members locked eyes during the intro as if to say, ‘This is it!’ By the chorus, we knew it was fate".
'All you need is me' reinforces the album as a pivotal moment in the septet's journey as they explore a more mature and complex narrative. The track presents a smooth and languid vibe with its slow beat and teasing lyrics that capture the underlying theme of being unable to shake the thought of that other person as they occupy every thought. Extending beyond a feeling of reverence, the track borders on an addiction to the feeling of being around them with lyrics such as, "The two of us in the moonlight, unbreakable, forever, I hold you tight".
The music video is a seductive spectacle soaked in a lingering darkness that comes with obsession, as it keeps you hooked to the sensation of never being able to get away, just coming back for more. Choreographed by Brian Puspos, the dance moves that are featured in the video bring each lyric to life, making each step feel like a desperate promise of undying love and loyalty.
MASAHIRO SUNADA shares more on how BEAT fits into their artistic evolution as he muses, "This EP is packed with the music we want to deliver right now, songs that could only be fully expressed by giving 100 out of 100. Having entered the second chapter of BALLISTIK BOYZ, this work is a statement of our resolve and determination".
With BEAT, BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE step into a more mature and emotionally layered chapter, embracing love in all its intensity, vulnerability, and fixation. As the EP unfolds its themes of desire and devotion through bold visuals and immersive sound, it ultimately stands as a statement of artistic evolution, marking a clear shift into a second era defined by confidence, clarity, and creative intent.
