Bandcamp has announced that it will hold 3 more Bandcamp Fridays in 2024, during which the music platform will waive its revenue share for 24 hours and give 100% of sales directly to artists and labels.

The first Bandcamp Friday of the year took place last week on 6 September, with the next 2 following on 4 October and 6 December.

Bandcamp Fridays began in March 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the closure of venues led to a loss of tour revenue for artists. The intitative has thus far generated over $120 million (USD) directly for musicians on their platform, according to Bandcamp.

Among other pro-tips, the platform suggests that artists post their music in the days before Bandcamp Friday, so that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle - as the music will already be featured in their search and discovery tools, and the viral nature of Bandcamp's fan community will be in effect.

It also recommeded for musicians to try using the “Name Your Price” feature on Bandcamp Fridays, when fans are feeling even more generous than usual. Artists might also consider doing a flash sale, or discounting their catalog for the day to attract new fans.
