Get ready to experience Bandstival live as they go off screen for their season finale, celebrating the growth of 24 indie bands over 15 episodes and giving fans the chance to see their favorite rookie acts perform on stage. The finale episode, aptly titled Resolve of a New Era, expands into an outdoor festival running from 5 to 7 December at New Taipei Metropolitan Park.
Since the first episode aired on 31 August, Bandstival prides itself on being an elimination-free reality series that shines the spotlight on up-and-coming indie bands. Their mission is to encourage bands to discover their full potential and unlock a whole new world of musical talent for them without the pressures and politics of competition. Renowned across Asia for its multi-stage setups, cinematic sound, and intimate fan experience, the three-day festival is definitely a treat for avid watchers of the show.
Throughout the season, many incredible bands have proved themselves on the Bandstival stage, including Wonfu (旺福) and Lilium (百合花), who are known for fusing culture with their music as they include traditional Taiwanese instruments in their rock music.
The series has also featured math-rock trio Resonance Effect (共振效應), led by prodigy Feng E (馮羿), most known for his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Bandstival has also featured star-studded guests such as hitmakers Accusefive (告五人) and alt pioneers Tizzy Bac.
The finale recreates the iconic stage setup that fans have grown to love with each episode, live at the festival venue. The event kicks off on Friday, 5 December, with an opening night, followed by the main festival on 6 to 7 December. All 24 bands will perform alongside special guests, with an international headliner closing the weekend. On the roster is Taiwan’s high-energy trio Sorry Youth (拍謝少年).
