Every couple of weeks, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music. We provide the context, they provide the sounds.

This week, the Bandwagon Mix brings you a special all local hip-hop edition courtesy of Team Highness!

Curated by co-founder Rauzan Rahman and mixed by DJ Kaltoure, the crew takes us through a half-hour rinse out of pure, homebrewed rap goodness, dropping in hot tunes from names like Alif Sleeq, Crazy88, Kevin Lester and Only XSOn, amongst many others. Team Highness was established with the express goal of promoting 100% Singaporean underground hip-hop, and this mix for us is a nice little taste of the kind of talents they’re tirelessly trying to push.

If you like what you hear, there’s a lot more where that came from. Team Highness can be found regularly holding club nights, hosting radio shows on Mixcloud and constantly featuring local hip-hop music and video releases online via their BASE SG umbrella.
