Bandwagon Mix #4: LEFTO (Brownswood)

Bandwagon Mix #4: LEFTO (Brownswood)

Every couple of weeks, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music.

We provide the context, they provide the sounds.

We’ve a got a big one for you this time. All the way from Brussels, we’ve lined up Lefto for the 4th edition of the Bandwagon Mix!

Having released on Brownswood Recordings, Blue Note and !K7 Records, this Belgian tastemaker is well known for his sensibilities in jazz and hip-hop. Having experienced his DJ sets firsthand during his gigs in Singapore (all three times in fact, at The Vault, kyo and Training Shed) and as regular listeners of his radio show - we can attest to how wonderfully eclectic his tracklist can get. And he definitely dug deep into his crate for this hour-long mix for us, throwing in some breaks, funk, bass, jazz, hip-hop, juke, and even some Pakistani and Arabic riddims amongst his choice cuts.
