BE:FIRST are back with a heart-tugging message wrapped in melody. Fresh off their World Tour 2025: Who is BE:FIRST?, the seven-member J-pop powerhouse drop their newest single ‘Under the Same Sky 空’, a soul-stirring ballad that trades high-octane energy for raw emotion. And this time, they’re singing for a bigger cause.
Commissioned as the official required song for the 92nd NHK National School Music Competition (Junior High Division), the track is currently airing on NHK’s Minna no Uta through June and July, resonating through classrooms and living rooms across Japan. The annual contest — affectionately known as N-Con — invites young voices nationwide to unite in song, making BE:FIRST’s message all the more poignant.
Written and co-produced by SKY-HI (BMSG CEO and BE:FIRST founder), with UTA (TinyVoice, Production) and LOAR (INIMI), ‘Under the Same Sky 空’ carries a simple but powerful reassurance: you’re not alone. Anchored in a gospel-inspired soundscape and elevated by intricate harmonies arranged by one of Japan’s top a cappella groups, each vocal line from the members breathes life and sincerity into the song.
Adding to its impact, the single is being broadcast in over 600 high schools during lunch and after-school hours, paired with a special voice message from the group — turning every play into a moment of calm and connection.
