Ben&Ben look back on 9 years together with anthology album 'Nine' — listen

Ben&Ben are celebrating nine years of music and memories with their new anthology album, Nine. 

Out now via Sony Music Entertainment, the nine-track record revisits key moments from the Filipino folk-pop band's journey through newly reimagined versions of their songs, alongside the brand-new track 'Harinawa'. Rather than simply looking back, Nine captures how the group and their music have evolved after nearly a decade together.

“Reimagined, for us, is letting the songs grow up with us,” shared lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist Paolo Benjamin. “Our Liwanag, and we the band too, were molded by life a lot in the past nine years.”

The anthology's focus track, 'Maybe the Night (Reimagined)', takes the band back to one of their earliest milestones. Originally arranged in Jam Villanueva's attic in 2017, 'Maybe the Night' was the first song the members worked on collectively from start to finish as a nine-piece.

For the new recordings, Ben&Ben drew from years of performing together, bringing the energy and chemistry of their live shows into the studio. Poch Barretto led the album's full production, with longtime collaborator JP Verona and producer Ziv also contributing to the project.

Closing the anthology is 'Harinawa', a new song written and completed during the band's ninth year. Carrying a message of hope and positivity, the track points towards the group's next chapter.

“We hope for these nine songs to accompany [Liwanag and our listeners] wherever they’re at in their lives right now,” shared Toni Muñoz. “Hope comes in many forms, and we wish for our music to be even just a glimpse of one of them.”
