Filipino boy group BGYO has released their second EP Headlines that's bound to turn up the heat and have fans demanding the dance floor.
The four-track EP really ups the ante with each song getting more exuberant and lively, making it almost impossible not to get up and bust a move. The quintet recently released the bold and daring title track of the EP 'Headlines' that set the tone for the rest of the album with its strong and assertive Y2K vibe. The track captures the story behind connections that turn into relationships built on meaningful connections, worth being cherished day after day.
The EP opens with 'All These Ladies', an irresistibly groovy track that has an element of suave and charm to it. The song presents a dreamlike tune that celebrates “all ladies and those who are ladies at heart.” 'All These Ladies' joins 'Headlines' as a pre-release single that gave fans a teaser before the EP.
At the heart of the record is 'Dance With Me', which packs BGYO's signature funky flair. The track was written by Grammy-nominated artist Jonathan Bach, Canadian songwriter Aaron Cheung, American producer-rapper Tommy Brown, and singer-rapper Courtlin Jabrae Edwards, together with Filipino act Khimo Gumatay and BGYO members Mikki and Nate. The lyrics tell a story of longing for a deep connection with someone new as they say, "Do, what comes naturally, cancel your plans for me tonight".
The third track on the EP, 'Aloe Vera', has a slightly laid-back beat to convey the heartfelt message of the power of love and how it has the ability to heal. The stripped-back beat, layered harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics give the song a personal touch. The lyrics cement this sentiment as they say, "Baby, I can soothe your heart, like aloe vera".
The hitmakers show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, as these four new tracks featured on Headlines are bound to be stuck in fans' heads until the next chart-busting project from BGYO.
