As BIGBANG's 20th anniversary approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting the previously announced comeback and headlining performance at Coachella 2026. However, we might be missing one member in these celebrations. Group member T.O.P has announced that he has no plans of joining BIGBANG for the comeback, instead choosing to focus on his solo career instead.

Sources have stated that the incredible actor and musician is gearing toward a solo album release under his very own label Topspot Pictures. They have also stated that T.O.P believes that the 2022 single ‘Still Life’ marked his final project with the group.

Though an official release date for the upcoming record remains unannounced, the rapper sparked excitement after sharing a teaser on 1 January captioned, "A new album is on the way," leading fans to anticipate its release.

Citing past legal controversies and a refusal to work with YG Entertainment again, his decision effectively cements BIGBANG’s future as a trio. In 2016, he was convicted for marijuana use while serving as a conscripted police officer, adding to the weight of his past experiences.

Another key factor behind his choice is his reluctance to collaborate with YG Entertainment and its founder, Yang Hyun-suk. With the band’s name and intellectual property still controlled by the company, the rapper prefers to distance himself from the management while pursuing his own path.

While G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung have officially confirmed that they will be a part of the anniversary celebrations at Coachella, news of T.O.P’s absence from the reunion is undoubtedly disappointing for VIPs. For many longtime fans, the milestone moment had sparked hopes of seeing the legendary quartet reunite on stage once again, even if just for a single performance. His decision, however, signals a clear new chapter both for the artist and for the group’s evolving legacy.
