ROSÉ has revealed an unexpected behind-the-scenes moment from her hit collaboration with Bruno Mars — the two had a major argument right before filming the music video for 'APT.'
Speaking during a video shared by Vogue, “Me and Bruno, oh my gosh… I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this. I had the biggest fight with Bruno right before the music video shoot. But we made up on set so it was alright.”
She added with a laugh, “Oh my God, he’s going to kill me… let’s not fight. Let’s be friends.”
While she didn’t go into detail about the cause of the disagreement, the BLACKPINK member confirmed it was serious enough that she doubted whether they’d even be able to shoot the video. In the end, the two artists resolved the issue and channeled their emotions into one of the most talked-about performances of the year.
'APT.' is the lead single off ROSÉ’s debut solo album rosie. The track blends pop, new wave, and rock influences, with lyrics inspired by a Korean drinking game called apateu. The song’s explosive success — debuting at number one in over 40 countries — was matched by its equally bold music video, co-directed by Mars and Daniel Ramos.
In the visual, ROSÉ and Mars perform as a leather-clad garage band on a bubblegum-pink set, combining high fashion with raw, emotional energy. The video also nods to playful chaos, featuring scenes of drinking games and candid laughter between takes.
The single went on to win Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV VMAs, making ROSÉ the first K-pop soloist to claim the honour — and further cementing the power of this unlikely but electric pairing.
