blur are making their way to Japan. 

On 25 January, the British rock band announced that they be returning to the Summer Sonic stage for the first time since 2003, as headliners for the Japanese music festival's 2023 edition. The festival will take place on 19 August 2023 in Tokyo's ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe and on 20 August 2023 in Osaka's Maishima Sonic Park.

Summer Sonic revealed Kendrick Lamar as their second headliner on 26 January. The rapper previously performed at Fuji Rock in 2018.

Joining the lineup are the likes of Liam Gallagher, Fall Out Boy, Evanescence, Niall Horan, Official Hige Dandism, Thundercat, YOASOBI, LANY, Lauv, FLO, GABRIELS, Holly Humberstone, Inhaler, Nova Twins, Pale Waves, and The Snuts.

Early registration tickets will be available via Summer Sonic starting on 14 February. One-day tickets are priced at JPY 18,000 while two-day passes go for JPY 34,000.

blur most recently reunited for their 25th anniversary, celebrating with a highly sought-out show at the UK's famed Wembley Arena set to take place later this year. The band are also slated to perform at Barcelona and Madrid's Primavera Sound Festival this June.
