Time to feel fancy everyone! Pop's newest street queen Charli XCX will be coming to Singapore. She'll be performing on 22nd April at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel. Making huge waves in most of the world right now after releasing her second major label album Sucker, a record which showcases her at her most unabashedly pop but it also features a more confident Charli XCX, unshakeable in her mission to dominate the airwaves with her brand of exuberant synth-pop.
Charli XCX’s rise to stardom was further propelled last year following her guest spot in Iggy Azalea’s #1 hit ‘Fancy’, has been nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, and also with her infectious single ‘Boom Clap’, from the soundtrack of ‘The Fault In Our Stars’. Her fiesty sophomore album ‘Sucker’ has been named as the Best Pop album of 2014 by Rolling Stone magazine, which dubbed her “the pop star 2014 was waiting for”.
The British singer will be coming thanks to Secret Sounds Asia, who've been on a roll themselves with a 2015 calendar which includes Bastille, Tycho and Alt-J. Out on 12 Jan over at SISTIC, early bird tickets are at SG$88 (password will be released on Secret Sounds Asia's FB page) while regular tickets will be SG$98 and door tickets at SG$120.
