Filipino acts are commanding the global spotlight as artists such as BGYO, BINI, and Maki have been nominated for Brazil's BreakTudo Awards 2025.
The boundary-breaking dynamic octet BINI has reinforced their identity as an incredibly versatile group that breaks free of the confines and boundaries of genre as they have shown their flair in genres from hip-hop to dance pop.
Their standout musical style has earned them nominations in three categories, including International Female Group, International Collaboration for 'Blink Twice (Dos Veces Remix)' with Spanish-Mexican artist Belinda, and International Fandom of the Year for their passionate fans, which they have named Blooms. Having won two BreakTudo Awards in 2024, BINI is going for their next big win this year, maybe even looking at a clean sweep.
Also joining the roster as fellow nominees is BGYO, who are known for viral hits like 'All These Ladies' and their new song 'Headlines.' Their out-of-this-world vocals and explosive performances on stage make their music the ultimate electrifying visual and auditory experience for their band of devoted fans.
Their infectious energy has granted them eligibility to be nominated in categories such as International Rising Artist. BGYO struck gold during 2024's installment of the awards, as they won the Music By New International Artist award for their track 'Patintero.'
Alternative-city pop sensation Maki has been nominated under the Asian Artist category, gaining recognition for his soft, melodic tunes that touch the hearts of his fans. This nomination comes ahead of the release of his album KOLORCOASTER, which is set to be released on 19 September.
Also nominated was acclaimed boy band SB19 known for their signature suave and charismatic vibe that they exude in their tracks that capture their boldness and confidence. The quintet have been recognised for their chart breaking tracks being nominated in categories such as, International Men’s Group and International Video of the Year, for the music video accompanying their single “Dam.”
Finally on the star-studded list of nominees is the ever charming HORI7ON. The band's signature confidence and infectious tunes have earned them a spot on the nomination list under the category of Music By International Artist for their hit song, 'COLD'.
The recognition of these Filipino artists, in addition to many other artists at this year's installment of the BreakTudo Awards, signifies the growth of international music all over the world. The BreakTudo Awards are definitely a celebration of music and art, regardless of genre, from all around the world.
