Rol3ert is back again with his reflective single 'say my name' at the height of his rising popularity across Southeast Asia.

Rol3ert takes a step in a new direction, with this track being his first time creating an alternative ballad piece. This genre shift showcases his ability to infuse his signature musical flair across a plethora of genres, cementing his artistic versatility.

The record was co-produced by Yuto Uchino, the lead vocalist of acclaimed Japanese indie band The fin. The deep and emotional guitar riffs, paired with the blistering drums performed by the incredibly talented Yusuke Okada of indie pop band BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON, truly emphasise the depth of the song in terms of its concept and its sonic style.

The lyrics coat the track in its theme of exploring life, death, and the metaphors and symbolism behind love—highlighting the jarring juxtaposition between loss and desire to give the track a lingering presence.

Uchino muses about his pride on being a collaborator on the track as he expresses, "The production began the moment I heard the demo — sounds instantly formed in my head. Meeting Rol3ert and experiencing his presence and personality made it feel like everything about him was transforming into music."

He adds, "Recording vocals and drums, I saw him genuinely enjoying himself — it reminded me of the pure joy I felt when I first started my band. I’m thrilled to witness the moment he spreads his wings from Japan to the world, and I can’t wait to see where his journey takes him.”

The 'say my name' music video will be released on 27 August at 9 PM SGT. The music video is set to be a spectacle that aligns perfectly with the concept of the song, as it establishes the contrast between two symbolic worlds — with a light version of Rol3ert roaming a seaside, and a dark version of him in an underground space, serving as a metaphor between joy and melancholy, and afterlife and reality.
