Michael Cassel Group and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures have announced that the Broadway hit Beetlejuice The Musical will make its Singapore debut in January 2026, bringing its delightfully devious energy to the prestigious Esplanade Theatre for a strictly limited season.

Fresh from a critically acclaimed run in Melbourne and ahead of its highly anticipated return to Broadway, the eight-time Tony Award-nominated musical will arrive in Singapore in full Broadway scale and spectacle. The production will star Andy Karl, one of Broadway’s most celebrated performers, in the title role. A three-time Tony nominee (Groundhog DayRockyMoulin Rouge! The Musical), Karl brings his rare level of theatrical pedigree — and comedic chaos — to the Singapore stage.

This latest production continues Michael Cassel Group’s commitment to delivering world-class theatrical experiences across the Asia-Pacific region and the globe, following sold-out Singapore seasons of Hamilton& Juliet, and The Lion King.

Michael Cassel, producer and CEO of Michael Cassel Group, said, “We’ve had the privilege of producing some of the biggest titles in musical theatre, and Beetlejuice The Musical is undoubtedly one of the most original, exhilarating productions of the last decade. It’s wickedly funny, visually spectacular, and with Andy Karl donning the iconic suit, it’s going to be an unmissable performance for Singapore audiences.”

Andy Karl shares, "Beetlejuice is not your typical leading man — unless your typical leading man is a hilarious fast-talking demon with an attitude and worse fashion sense. That’s exactly why I couldn’t say no! He’s wildly inappropriate, totally unhinged, and yet somehow… weirdly lovable? I’m thrilled to bring this gloriously deranged show — and my questionably clean striped suit — to Singapore for the first time.  Hang on to your sand worms, because…it’s showtime!”

Alice Neo, Assistant Head, Venues, The Esplanade Co Ltd, said, “At Esplanade, we take pride in curating a diverse mix of arts and entertainment, both through our own programmes as well as productions by our valued hirers. We’re thrilled to welcome the Singapore debut of the delightfully offbeat Beetlejuice The Musical and to have Michael Cassel Group and their world-class presentations back at the Esplanade Theatre.  It will add a bold, irreverent splash to our 2026 calendar.”

Based on Tim Burton’s Academy Award-winning 1988 film, Beetlejuice The Musical follows Lydia Deetz, a goth teenager obsessed with the afterlife, who summons a delightfully demented demon to scare away her insufferable parents. What follows is a jaw-dropping, genre-bending adventure through the land of the living (and the dead), complete with exorcisms, sandworms, a haunted house, and one extremely unfiltered ghost.

The production is directed by Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The MusicalHere Lies Love) with an original score by Eddie Perfect (King KongShane Warne: The Musical), and choreography by Connor Gallagher. With its high-octane performances, eye-popping stagecraft and cheeky humour, the show has won fans across generations and continents.

Visually inventive and sonically outrageous, the production includes the original Broadway set design and costume designs, a kaleidoscopic lighting and projection, and special effects that transform the stage into a fast-moving netherworld of the hilarious and the horrifying.

The show will be staged on Singapore’s largest performing stage at the magnificent Esplanade Theatre. Modelled on a traditional horseshoe-shaped layout, the Esplanade Theatre is uniquely suited to delivering the engaging, immersive chaos of Beetlejuice in all its haunted glory.

Tickets go on sale to the general public from Thursday, 3 July, with exclusive pre-sale access available via Ticketek Singapore. Fans are encouraged to join the waitlist now to secure early access and exclusive pre-sale offers. The waitlist closes on 28 June, 11.59PM.
